My journey in UI/UX design began when I was a junior in high school with a free summer. My brother invited me come learn how to code at the startup he worked at. Instead, I found myself gravitating toward the UI/UX designer there, who took me under her wing and taught me the ropes as we updated the design of a financial search engine.
I discovered my passion for creating clean, structured designs that I could bring to life through web development.
Fast forward to college, where I took my first design internship at Jupyter, a data-science computing software, based on my campus and used by organizations like NASA and Bloomberg.
I launched features like a start page and navigation bar while coding alongside engineers, developing a collaborative approach I’ve valued ever since. Though I faced imposter syndrome tackling complex data science concepts at the time, I learned to maintain focus on solving user problems to drive tangible improvements.
I transitioned to Hawke Media, a marketing agency, where I explored a new side of digital design, broadening my creative range across E-commerce industries like skincare, furniture, and food.
At Hawke, I worked on designs for over 60 brands and launched more than 20 custom Shopify websites from concept to completion. I collaborated closely with business owners, leveraging data like Google Analytics and Hotjar to craft funnels that drove conversions. This experience developed my ability to manage projects independently while delivering custom websites tailored to each business's unique goals.
Joining Philosophie, a software design consultancy, as a Product Designer gave me the opportunity to tackle the complex design problems I wanted to learn from.
One project highlight was redesigning Springboard, a financial application, where I transitioned the interface from a legacy dashboard to a streamlined, member-centric navigation model. I worked with cross-functional teams to prioritize features. I optimized workflows for power users through user research. It has since launched to Beta, with Springboard customers loving it. A key learning from my experience here was how powerful storytelling is for aligning stakeholders and shaping design decisions.
Most recently, I’ve been a Product Designer on Ford’s Global Experience Design team, where I dove into experience and service design.
I've jumped into prototyping scrappy concepts, like an in-vehicle-led test drive, and leaned on storyboarding to work through the complexities of multi-setting user experiences—from home to in-vehicle. My primary focus is to communicate product nuances, whether through visuals or hands-on prototypes, so all teammates are involved in the solutioning process.
My cross-functional team developed a 0-1 contactless test drive experience. The end-to-end experience piloted at a Las Vegas dealership, enabling customers to book remote test drives online and use an in-vehicle app as their test drive guide. The response was overwhelmingly positive—customers appreciated the pressure-free solo drive while still gaining an educational experience.
Where I Want to Be...
I want to continue driving product development through thoughtful, iterative improvements that minimize risk and deliver meaningful impact to users. I experience a special kind of joy when working within a tight-knit, passionate team. A space I'd like to focus on next is consumer tech and lifestyle products that bring moments of delight to people’s everyday lives.
